Scott Harris Biography

As a senior at Brevard College I experimented with aluminum as a painting surface and have been intrigued ever since. I have worked almost solely in aluminum in both sculpture and painting since graduation and have continued to play with the dichotomy of a warm, inviting scene on a cold, industrial surface.

The surface lends itself well to water and reflections and it just so happens that one of my favorite things to look at, so of course to paint, is a wet street at night. I love to play on the movement and color in the light and the shimmer of the road and sky playing against each other. My second great love in life, second of course to my wife, is art, and I am thankful to make a living doing what I love.
